I Can See Cleary Now The Labour Reign Is Gone

_everythings_gone_green
The most heartwarming news of the local elections was the astonishing result of the Green Party ‘s Pat Cleary taking the Birkenhead & Tranmere seat.

And so we say “Bye Bye Bri” and farewell then to Labour cabinet member Brian Kenny who was very much part of Labour group power elite.

Meanwhile a less than gracious Power Boy Pip dismissed the momentous event as a “protest vote”   Displaying his usual lack of political acumen he failed to elaborate on what this was actually a protest against and at the same time displayed his contempt for the voters of Birkenhead and Tranmere. Could it be they were voting for someone who actually bothers to be active in the community and can cogently explain the Green Party’s ideology?

Meanwhile the usually mute Alison McGovern ,who apparently is a Wirral MP ( who knew?),popped up out of hibernation and offered the unique insight that only a MP can bring to the party  by saying  “you can get funny results at elections”.
Thanks for that Ali Bongo – you can get back in your (ballot) box now.

No reaction so far from Birkenhead MP Frank Field in whose constituency this remarkable result took place in – but then this is a man so much in denial he’ll say that the outcome of the election in fact endorses the wonderful work that he and his team are doing in the area.  No, Frank dearie it’s not,it’s really, really not.

Also on the way out is pesky (former ) Councillor Ian Lewis. We can only hope that his peskiness proves to be more of a potent force outside the Town Hall than inside because we need as many people as possible who are willing to shake up the political scene on Wirral.

Finally might we suggest that the result in Birkenhead/Tranmere will do more than any damning report to rattle the ruling Labour group out of their political complacency.
Whilst it wouldn’t surprise us if the resounding result is dismissed by these golf-obsessives as the “rub of the green” (geddit) we must remember that power is what these people crave and when one of their own is taken down these people must finally sit up and take note that they can no longer rely on a docile and compliant electorate – which can only be a good thing for democracy and the people of Wirral.

  1. These politicians (tiny tiny p), just don’t get that its not a protest vote, its a massive show of public awareness that any of the “established” parties are not fit to govern, either locally or nationally.

  2. We have the release of a damning report imminent unless you were so chary as to accuse the CEO of being a liar. Mr Burgess has promised the release of the ISUS/Working Neighbourhoods reports, this week, or at latest next week. Now a spanner has been thrown in works with evidence of bribery such that the pat response of “No officer is to blame ” is a little threadbare..perhaps another 6 months whilst a further investigation is undertaken?

Oh and a chance encounter at a fishing water on Saturday produced more allegations of criminality previously unknown of, such that one wonders why the police have not a crime number!!

  3. G’day Leaky Lord

Nigel “Highbrow” Hobro thinks that the buffoons might be childish and churlish some more.

I blew the whistle to Basnett and Adderley about Big, ISUS and Working Neighbourhoods THREE YEARS AGO next month so what is another six months of laughing at them. he he he

The facts won’t change and “Highbrow has the data base, numerous court documents, there is a Grant Thornton Report, a DCLG Report on it’s way, we will have a new much loved Mayor to laugh at he he he, there will be retirements, new bosses and more than likely pay offs.

    I have a NOKIA.

Ps Lord of (Orrible) Wirral Leaks, thank you for this site.

    Pps

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

  4. It was clear when canvassing voters in Birkenhead and Tranmere that they knew Pat Cleary and the hard work he had put in over the years in the ward. Most had nothing but contempt for Kenny and commented that he only ever appeared at ‘cutting tape’ events. In fact one Labour Party activist on the door step said he wished their party had Pat. It gives great satisfaction that we ousted the cabinet member for Environment, a member who never looked after his own ward’s environment never mind Wirral’s. Good riddance to a complacent career politician.

  5. G’day My Lordly

    I can see Cleary now;

Councillors received an e mail on Friday to advise them that…

Please note that a Special Meeting of the Audit and Risk Management
Committee has been called for Tuesday 22 July 2014, to consider an update
report in respect of BIG and ISUS.

An agenda will be distributed in due course to those Members who are
appointed by the Council to serve on the Audit and Risk Management
    Committee.

They are still not adding WORKING NEIGHBOURHOODS on the end of Big and ISUS, do you know why?

That is when things were very very very very very very naughty.

The 22 July 2014 will be 3 years and 17 days since I sat under (not the Southern Cross) a grown man’s football shirt hanging on his wall. Yep a grown man!

    I can actually see VERY Cleary now;

If you are going to blow the whistle at Wirral whatever you do don’t go to the

    THE PRETEND FRIEND

    or

    FOOTBALL SHIRT

    or

    HIS LITTLE BLONDE HELPER

    or

    THE DILL

    or

    THE PURPLE PEOPLE EATER

    or

A MAN WITH THE ALPHABET AFTER HIS NAME

    and definitely not

    THE SHYSTER.

    Ooroo

    James

Ps I presume your Good Lord and LADY will be attending the COURTING and FETING of the new mayor at the Floral next week?

Pps So I bet the Fudgit and Risk It Committee on 22 July 2014 will set up a sub-committee to look at all this and we will go well into the fourth year.

Ppps We (“Highbrow” and Griffo) promise not to go away until it is suitably resolved Lordy we like writing to you.

    Luv you XXXXXX
