The last post Light Emitting Diodes – What Wirral Council isn’t telling you… did just that and we look forward to publishing further instalments :
Last week we focused on the blue/white LED lights in the new lampposts that Wirral Council (and most other councils across the UK and world) are now rapidly rolling out and the harm that this light wave spectrum generates for human, wildlife and insect circadian rhythms and hormone production.
This week we will shine the spotlight on the Uninode transmitters which are positioned on the top of the new lampposts and which have been innocently positioned by the Council as a ‘lighting control system’ which are green and save us energy by dimming the lights. If informed of the real purpose, perhaps any support for the potential energy ‘saving’ might be much outweighed by the very real dangers of further increasing our RF (radio frequency i.e. microwave frequency) exposure with a web of inescapable transmitters positioned on every street and outside children’s bedrooms.
Most people have not even noticed the transmitters yet (and are therefore uninformed by the Council), let alone questioned what they are really for. Certainly the Council and Government are keen to roll them out under cover of this lamppost upgrade. Co-incidentally this is in advance of 5G and our ‘digital economy’ with millions being spent to do so.
In our following articles over the next few weeks, we will focus on the health dangers of current wireless radiation exposure, and some of the common sources, which has already increased 118 (i.e. 18,000,000,000,000) times in the last few decades (1) before coming onto the exponential dangers of the new 5G technology of which these transmitters undoubtedly form a part. If you are not already concerned about 5G yet you should be as this is already planned for Liverpool and Birkenhead this year (2) and it is clear that the rest of the Wirral is next with this and other infrastructure rapidly being deployed.
Currently these Uninodes advise that they operate on 868-870 MHz frequency (which falls in the microwave RF spectrum). They are also on continuous transmission. So this is, at the very least, similar to having a mobile phone or stronger spewing out microwave radiation on at all times. This will lead to a further significant increase in the RF microwave smog that the Wirral, and indeed most other areas of the country, are now being exposed to without knowledge or understanding of the dangers and without consent.
The following is extracted from the Harvard Technology ‘Conformance of radio comms equipment relating to human exposure’ document (3):
Harvard LeafNut Radio equipment communicates at very low RF power levels in the 868-870MHz band. From fixed position several meters from human contact, the effective radiated power has been measured between 11-14dBm or 12.5-25mW for 100% continuous transmission. According to the standard this equates to a power density of only 0.007mW/cm2. Safe exposure limits set by this standard are 1mW/ cm2 . This can therefore be deemed in compliance.
Before we go any further, the issue with ‘safety standards’ that industry, Councils, Government and Public Health England quote are based on thermal (heating effects) only of RF / non ionising radiation. They effectively test a fluid filled dummy head (yes you heard that right…a fluid filled dummy head) next to a device for a short exposure (c. 6 minutes) and if the fluid does not heat up by 2 degrees or so, it is declared safe or in compliance. Incredible as that might sound, it is true and this has been and continues to be the basic upon which all wireless radiation devices (cell phones, wifi, baby monitors, DECT phones, smart products, smart meters, cell towers etc.) are deemed safe (4). In fact when you read any response back from the Council or Government regarding safety of RF radiation, they quote these The International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) guidelines and conclude there is ‘no evidence to suggest harm’ at these levels. This does NOT prove it is safe, it means it meets inadequate safety testing which has not been updated since 1998 before the massive explosion of wireless technology. Many credible scientists are saying that these standards are out by a factor of many thousands if not millions for true biological safety.
This so called ‘safety standard’ in the UK does not take into account ANY effect whatsoever on human health, children, embryos in the womb, insects, animals or plant cell biology, nor does it take any account any effect of continuous low level exposure, pulsed frequency exposure or multiple frequency exposure. You will not find any research that proves microwaves biological safety. The guidelines only ‘suggest’ safety….of course based on a short exposure thermal test only! Public Health England (PHE), the Government, Council and Industry take advise from the ICNIRP which sets industry standards for exposure…who sits on this body one has to wonder. In fact the self-appointed ICNIRP seem in the process of relaxing standards in advance of the 5G roll out (5).
We are now totally blanketed by millions and millions of times natural background radiation by every manner of wireless devise and cell towers and now by this ominous, inescapable network of 5G ready lamppost transmitters. It raises very serious questions about human and environmental safety as well as informed consent to forcible exposure (allegedly safe or otherwise). There is no informed choice to being exposed.
4G cell towers are now also being 5G ready enabled and the lamppost transmitters are being connected up via the boxes next to them in preparation. This is happening now. This will enable the Uninode transmitters to be 5G upgraded (if they are not already). 4G or 5G they are still transmitting microwave radiation into every area of our environment.
What they mean by ‘several meters’ from source is unclear but ‘several meters from source’ easily reaches into a bedroom window where a child is asleep for 8 hours and certainly those poor birds that are seen perched on them are exposed at source, which by any safety measure if unsafe. Flying insects and pollinators are attracted to the lights and also find difficultly navigating in the web of electromagnetic radiation as they operate on very subtle electromagnetic signals plus are more quickly affected by their small size. There is no safe ‘distance from source’ for them. This is devastating our insect and small bird populations as it is inescapable (see reference 6 for some examples of how insects and wildlife are affected). The reach of each transmitter is up to 8 km so every person and every creature is being exposed to many thousands of signals at any one time.
These lampposts are now being connected up via 5G ready cell towers (many new ones of which are rapidly appearing across the Wirral) via Ethernet. Although the Council is currently deigning this is 5G, they are certainly upgradable to 5G frequencies and phased array antennae. We will focus on 5G in a future article, but 5G does not travel well through obstacles (such as trees) and therefore requires to be positioned at least every 2-10 houses or so. All manner of ‘street furniture’ such as lampposts, manholes, phone boxes, church spires etc. will be used to house the transmitters.
If you feel uncomfortable or sick with the current levels of cell towers, wifi and wireless radiation exposure, 5G will be up to 10-100 times stronger and will be inescapable. Imagine a world of driverless cars, drones, facial recognition and robotic controls, the signal cannot fail and must be positioned everywhere.
Basic biology is clear in that every cell and nerve in the body operates using tiny electrical signals. There can surely be no logical doubt that these biological signals will be affected by pulsed or continuous high frequency microwave radiation of billions of cycles per second. For example, your microwave operates using 2.4 GHz (2.4 billions cycles per minute) to excite the water molecules in the food. Wifi operates on 2.4 GHz (although the new wifi’s are operating on 5GHz which is even stronger). Miraculously, when it is on a lower power (such that it does not heat you up by several degrees in a few minutes several meters from source), according to ‘safety standards’ it is perfectly safe! Hey presto! Voila! Magic!
There are, in fact, thousands of papers and calls from credible research scientists across the world that conclude that the current ‘safety standards’ are woefully inadequate (see reference 7 for just a few examples). Biological effects take place at levels far far below thermal levels. We will focus on current wireless radiation exposure health issues in future articles to build up an understanding before focusing on the exponential dangers of 5G about to explode onto our streets. 5G is being sold with wonderful benefits of faster download speeds, economic miracles, instant gaming, virtual reality, driverless cars, drones, AI and the Internet of Things….the downside…turning our environment into a microwave oven….amazingly all with no health impacts whatsoever…and incredible profits!!!
Even the World Health Organisation has in fact classified wireless high frequency radiation as a ‘Group 2B probable carcinogen’ and there are calls to upgrade this to a Group 1 (definitive) carcinogen. And yet, the UK Government and Wirral Council continue with the deployment of this network of transmitters and 5G plans.
It is clear that there is considerable scientific doubt as to the safety of these EU, UK guidelines and standards. Even if just some of it is true, a precautionary approach should be adopted immediately. Scientists all over the world are calling for a halt to 5G which is being ignored (8). We are in the midst of an uninformed and unconsented experiment on our health and that of all future generations.
When challenged, it is clear no safety testing whatsoever on the environmental and/or health impact has been undertaken by Wirral Council or the Government to actual biology of any group (males, females, foetuses, babies, children, wildlife, insects, birds etc. ) potentially now for a lifetime before the deployment of these Uninodes (and other 5G infrastructure) on the Wirral. Sorry…our mistake….of course it is perfectly safe, it meets ICNIRP guidelines that show each device does not heat you up by a few degrees over a short exposure!
In the Council’s Street Lighting ‘Strategy and Action Plan 2014’ (9) extracted are the following quotes:-
The Local Government Act 1966, means that Wirral Council is a Highway Authority in its own right with a duty to ensure the safety of the public highway.
“Wirral will be a place where the vulnerable are safe and protected, where employers want to invest and local businesses thrive, and where good health and an excellent quality of life is within the reach of everyone who lives here”
In delivering a new street lighting approach the Council will aim to:
Act in the best interests of the customer and the Council at all times; Have consideration for the natural and built environments;
You cannot see it, feel it or touch it, but RF radiation via the Central Management System (CMS) and Uninode PhotoCell technology (or any other transmitting devises currently or yet to be deployed) most certainly does not ensure the safety of the public, nor ensure good health, nor protect the vulnerable, nor provides an excellent quality of life, nor consideration for the natural environment. Health is damaged, cancer and neurological problems etc. increase and wildlife is collapsing. There are thousands of studies proving this that are being ignored or discredited by big industry and misleading the government in favour of corporate interests.
Damage from RF radiation is in fact uninsurable by Lloyds of London. This must say something (10).
It needs no reminding that corporate and government interests/targets have been put ahead many times of the evidence and health of the population and wildlife with little comeback on industry/government in later years after harm has incurred e.g. smoking, asbestos, lead petrol, lead paint, x-ray exposure limits, diesel cars, DEET, alicarb and other toxic pesticides, sugar, hydrogenated fats etc. to name a few. These bans and policy changes have come many decades after the initial warnings and evidence. The pattern is the same, denial, discrediting and finally, after countless deaths and lawsuits, admission and eventually, too late for many, a change of policy.
Finally, if for example, people wish to continue smoking that is their choice now, warnings are finally widespread and clear and smoking is banned from public places and schools. It can also be smelt, seen and avoided. There is no safe limit that can ever reasonably ever be set for smoking from adults to babies. It is a matter of luck if disease, from asthma to cancer, does not manifest. Equally, there is no safe limit to high frequency RF microwave exposure. Unlike smoke, it cannot be seen, felt or smelt, passes through walls and concrete. It is now being broadcast from countless cell towers, soon every street lamppost and all manner of wireless devises that are being pushed out by government (smartmeters) and industry (smarttech and IoT’s). It is therefore absolutely impossible to avoid and the effects are real and cumulative and will manifest over a period of time, and in all liklihood far more quickly with 5G. This is being forced on the population without knowledge, any understanding of the effects or consent. Just because something is technologically possible does not make it safe. The 5G testbeds only prove massive speeds and penetration through buildings etc. they are not testing safety. Just because this is not reported in the industry sponsored mainstream media does not make it untrue.
Even if people or creatures survive the next 20 years before acceptance of harm, DNA will be damaged for generations to come. There is no reversing damaged DNA in humans, eggs, sperm and all living creatures. There is no going back once pollinators have completely collapsed. Of course there are other factors such as pesticides in insect decline but the collapse of insect population is so rapid over the past 10-20 years since the rapid deployment of 2,3 and 4G and wireless technology. Microwaves cannot be seen, felt or touched. Via oxidative damage mechanisms any range of disease can manifest including neurological problems, depression, mental illness, reproductive harm, autism, ADHD, heart arrhythmias, infertility and cancer etc. All of these have increased rapidly in the past 10-15 years. Exposure can generally only be understood with a meter and measurement is very complex so the public is totally unaware of this source of harm and it is difficult to prove which devise it is as it is everywhere….perfect…no comeback! Forced microwave exposure is already significant coming into our homes, towns and public places, 5G is set to increase this massively. The standards being adhered to and quoted by the EU/UK and industry are simply inadequate.
Exposure without consent into our homes from microwave devices fitted to lampposts as well as cell towers to support them are causing grievous bodily harm and they cannot be escaped from as they pass through walls, windows and travel for many miles.
Whilst there may be some merit in the perceived cost savings and carbon reduction of using LED’s and a wireless Central Management System instead of sodium lights and a cabled system and/or manual inspections surely any benefits are far outweighed by this invisible environmental pollution assault filling our environment with ever increasing and uncontrolled levels of DNA / cell damaging high frequency microwave exposure. It must also be noted that many of these LED lights have been seen on in the day hence their effectiveness/purpose as an effective control system is questionable in this regard. The 5G element is even more ominous. Before you marvel at the prospect of faster download speeds, you may want to consider the health impact of 5G in your health and that of your children and the environment.
5G signals do not travel well through trees and foliage. It seems very co-incidental that trees are being felled at a rapid rate across the Wirral as the lampposts and new cell towers roll out across the Wirral, UK and across the rail networks in the interests of protecting out Health and Safety. Given that the chances of being killed by a tree are half that of being killed by lightening but cancer rates are now 1 in 2, autism 1 in 50 and depression and anxiety rife at 1 in 4, it seems that the H&S focus of protecting us by felling trees is a little spurious at best.
The strategy paper ‘Strategy and Action Plan 2014’ also noted that there are safer alternatives to remotely controlling lampposts (if that were their true intention only) that were considered and dismissed such as underground cabling and inspections. Surely, the cost of a few people’s cancer treatment and illnesses will pay for the cabling and manual inspections, albeit from a different government budget line or target. We believe that the public would choose health and overall environmental impact over cost savings if they were in full possession of the facts.
There is no safe level of exposure to microwave radiation. Period. Microwave radiation is found in nature in almost undetectable levels. Microwave radiation has been classified as a Group 2b carcinogen by the WHO and there are calls to upgrade that classification to a Group 1 carcinogen. The public should be able to walk down their streets, around their home, garden, town and public places without being unknowingly and/or unwillingly exposed to any/let alone continually increasing levels of microwave radiation for the sake of cost savings, government targets, ‘progress’, or the push for the digital and smart economy, 5G and ‘internet of things’.
Recently in the news, there has been talk around the Clean Air Act with children at risk and deserving to breath clean air to stop pollution related deaths. Although microwaves cannot be seen they are a significant health and air/environmental pollutant. We all should have the right to clean air and a clean environment. The government also a few days ago announced a commitment to biodiversity and the environment. Filling the land with RF radiation is not compatible with this pledge.
Do you consent to you and your family being forcibly exposed to these microwave transmitting devises on every lamppost in your home, garden, street or public places? This is an assault on our right to live peacefully in our own homes and should be classified an act of grievous bodily harm if non consensual.
A recent letter (dated March 2018) signed by Cllr Phil Davies, Leader of Wirral Council stated that 2018 priorities were:-
Making sure children are safe, protected and able to reach their full potential.
Investing to improve the quality of our roads and highways.
Expanding our zero-tolerence approach to anti-social behaviour and working with Police to make sure Wirral remains a safe place to live and work.
These Uninode transmitters DO NOT protect children (they harm them), they are an environmental hazard on our roads and are an act of grievous bodily harm and therefore to not provide a safe place to live and work.

Councillor Phil Davies who said: “My recommendation will propose all of Wirral’s more than 27,000 street lamps, illuminated bollards and other road safety features across Wirral are improved over the next three years – with 9,000 street lights repaired and replaced in 2018 alone.”
“This investment by my administration would mean every street light in Wirral, from major highways to country lanes and cul-de-sacs, will be replaced with a high-tech, energy efficient LED bulb.”
“This is the single largest investment in our street lighting and road safety for ten years.”
“Following a long-running campaign lead by Cllr Stuart Whittingham, cabinet member for transport, we are delighted to have secured £4.6m of funding from SALIX to provide 27,000 new lamps with remote control dimmers and switches.”
Perhaps these Council and Cabinet leaders will one day be held responsible for any and all future harm caused by RF transmissions from these lampposts and 5G transmitters they have personally endorsed and forced upon us..
Please do not dismiss this information without due research. If you do not consent to being forcibly microwaved in your own home, garden, street and workplace, ensure that your voice is heard by the Council and industry. DO NOT purchase a 5G enabled phone, car or devise, check every new electronic purchase carefully. Do not assume that someone else will do this or that the Council will suddenly acknowledge the dangers and change policy. Only sufficient public research and outcry has a chance of doing that. We are all in awe of faster mobile speeds, glued to our phones and smart devices, perhaps it is time to urgently reconsider our priorities.

All very interesting and I am sure that no-one would disagree that it would be great to live in a risk-free world. However, I have direct experience of deciding appeals against the refusal of consent to install telecommunications equipment (mostly masts and 3G or 4G antennas) – every single one of which was accompanied by similar objections to those voiced here. The fact of the matter is, if equipment conforms to ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection) guidellines, there is no reason for a decision maker to refuse permission for their installation. Moreover, the local highways authority usually doesn’t require express permission to upgrade street lamps. So, anyone who is concerned about this equipment should check whether it holds an ICNIRP certificate. If it doesn’t, then there may be grounds to think again about their installation. However, if it does then it is safe according to internationally accepted standards controlling human exposure to non-ionising radiation.
In respecting your comment, of course very solid in argument, but I have reason to believe that you have not learned to read. Does it not transpire in the article that the guidelines are totally outdated and based on all the wrong criteria. Is it also not advisable for government and council to put in place the precautionary principle?, or is that too much to ask? Is the money more important than the health of the population and our children and grand-children?

ICNIRP guidelines seem to be the problem. ICNIRP guidelines essentially test a fluid filled dummy over a short 6 minute exposure. They do not take into account continuous exposure, nor exposure to many many thousands of devises and frequencies at the same time that we are now involuntarily (or voluntarily) exposed to, nor do they take into account intense pulsed frequencies which devises such as wifi and smart meters emit. ICNIRP guidelines have not been updated based since 1996 before the explosion of wireless technology and when we had simple phones that would make a call and send a text. Now we have every conceivable devise and massive data downloads. Imagine what is passing through the body, it passes through concrete walls. People are suffering effects of RF radiation. Just because the ICNIRP that is a self appointed, unchallengeable industry sponsored organisation say it is safe does not mean it is true. Although one can draw ones conclusions from some basic research into what credible scientists such as Martin Pall are saying. So….. “9,000 street lights replaced or repaired in 2018”? What effing planet is this utter arrogant buffoon Phil ‘Impervious Liar’ Davies living on? Where are these 9,000 replaced/repaired lights that he speaks of? I’ve only seen about a few dozen in our area!!! For the record, since May 2016, I have encountered, logged and photographed, as well as repeatedly reported, nearly FIVE HUNDRED separate faulty and broken street lights in Wallasey and North Birkenhead on my random nightly travels alone and only about three dozen of them were even looked at let alone repaired or replaced by this point last year (tellingly five of the long term broken locations just hours before the local elections).
There are still more going out each week as I speak – an average of six or seven EVERY SINGLE day. Last week I clocked an unbelievable 37 additional lights going out in Wallasey’s side streets and main roads alone! And yet where are these replacements he speaks of? Surely the council – or more exactly Streetscene – should focus on just sorting out the ever growing backlog of the broken and faulty lights instead of going to the whole rigmarole (expense and time) of an overambitious replacement programme that, judging by how long it takes them to repair just a couple of hundred lights that I have brought to their attention, they have absolutely zero chance of delivering in its entirety by 2021.
If we’re seriously talking 27,000 lights which they are set to replace with these cancer-inducing LED abominations (many of which are unreliable and barely work for a few months before going out anyway – there are many examples of these which shockingly comprise about 20% of the list of 485+ faulty / broken / headless columns I have logged) then they need to get their bloody skates on and start delivering about a hundred new repairs/replacements EVERY DAY at this rate before they have ANY chance or realistically delivering on their ambitions and meeting the 2021 deadline. Otherwise they should stop peddling the bull and settling for a more likely timescale of SIX years…..cos that is how long some of the longest faults will have been left neglected by the time 2021 rolls around. We’re already a quarter of the way through 2019 and as expected, NOTHING has changed here in Wallasey or North Birkenhead.
Is Wirral officially the worst borough in the entire country for its disgraceful neglect of its street lights and the utterly abysmal lack of urgency at which repairs are taking place, regardless of the reasons? I would wager it most definitely is. Unless somebody can find me another example more damning than ours.
This is very harmful technology… this 5G is military grade microwave initially developed for weapon, imagine the micro wave RF is pulses 24/7, because the radio frequency is invisible people just ignore, but tell them put a slice of meat in microwave and see what happened. These lampost are the source of harassing to the public health, and public need to voice out, or get the legal proceeding start, you don’t give consent to this technology near your house. Coz this technology also use lidar and radar technology, it surveillance tools, it map your house in 3D.
